Zach Edwards – DE/OLB

3-star

6’3, 217

Starkville, MS

The fact that Zach Edwards hasn’t committed already is probably the most surprising part about his recruitment for Louisville.

The 6’3, 217 pound defensive end visited Louisville two weeks ago and many expected, including me, that he would was going to be one of the guys who committed as soon as he got home.

Edwards sent a series of “cryptic” tweets throughout the week following his visit in which he was wearing a Louisville uniform in both. Once again, it would be a huge shock if Edwards committed somewhere else.

The former LSU commit would be another big time get for this staff who at this point are desperate to land capable edge rushers after losing Jonathan Greenard to transfer and having really no one else step up last season. Edwards, who is a big slight for a defensive end, is an extremely athletic player with a lot of speed for his position who should be able to rush the passer for the Cards next season.

Other schools being considered: Mississippi State, Ole Miss, Memphis

Prediction: Louisville
