Jamious Griffin – RB

4-star

5’10, 205

Rome, GA

Even with Louisville already being stacked at the running back position, the Cards have targeted Jamious Griffin and have gone all in on the elite prospect out of Rome, GA.

Griffin is the highest rated player remaining on the board for the Cards, as Rivals ranks him as the 20th best running back in the country and a four star recruit. He recently included Louisville in his final four and plans to make his decision on Wednesday. Louisville may have an advantage considering that Griffin was previously committed to North Carolina State, which is where current Louisville offensive line coach and offensive coordinator Dwayne Ledford moved from this past winter.

Griffin would provide the Cards with another elite home run hitting running back, who has the potential to bust off a big touchdown run just about anytime he touches the ball. Again, even with the Cards having solid depth at the position that hasn’t stopped Scott Satterfield and his staff from visiting with Griffin on multiple occasions, showing him how big of a priority he is in this class.

Griffin has been the target of several big time programs and it really is a toss up at this point where he is going to land. He’s currently being forecasted to hometown Georgia Tech according to Rivals, but we’ve seen crazier things happen on signing day in the past.

Not sure if Louisville will be able to pull off the upset and hold off Georgia Tech, but if they do – watch out. Griffin would undoubtedly be the headliner of Scott Satterfield’s first class at Louisville.

Other schools being considered: Georgia Tech, Auburn, North Carolina State

Prediction: Louisville
