Michael Dyer – RB

This one is a bit out there, but seeing Michael Dyer get more run in the professional ranks would be fun, right? Dyer is one of the biggest transfers the Louisville football program has ever landed and though he didn’t achieve what many thought he could, he still had a nice finish to his career after becoming a national legend for his performance in the national championship game for Auburn and then facing serious legal issues at Arkansas State.

Dyer played in a total of 15 games as a Cardinal, and actually was fairly productive playing for both Charlie Strong and Bobby Petrino. In Louisville’s first season in the ACC Dyer played in a backfield that included Brandon Radcliff, LJ Scott, and Dominique Brown and finished the season with 481 rushing yards and 5 touchdowns. Unfortunately for him his season ended with him being ruled academically inelgible, thus ending his college career.

Dyer went undrafted in 2015, signing with the Raiders after a tryout and came extremely close to making the team but was cut at the conclusion of training camp. No other NFL team gave Dyer a chance, so he took his talents north of border to the CFL signing with the Saskatchewan RoughRiders, but never played a down.

Next. One player to watch at every position during spring practice. dark

Dyer was once considered a sure first round talent, especially after his aforementioned big run in the National Championship game for Auburn in 2011, but was never able to live up to the hype and expectations that were set after rushing for 143 yards in that game. Though he’s been out of football for a few years, who wouldn’t want a physical freak of nature like this to play for their team?
