Virginia is still Virginia, and Louisville basketball still can’t finish

PG. Louisville Cardinals. CHRISTEN CUNNINGHAM. C+. This is the first C I think I’ve ever given Christen. He just wasn’t very aggressive like we needed him to be and didn’t really have much of an impact on the game. The plus is for him getting to the lane a couple times and having 6 assists. Not a terrible game, just not good enough.

KHWAN FORE. C-. Khwan had trouble handling the ball and didn’t effect the game at all on either end it seemed like. Ryan played more than him in both halves of the game.. SG. Louisville Cardinals

SF. Louisville Cardinals. DWAYNE SUTTON. B-. Dwayne started out the scoring for us, with the first 8 points in the game. He played hard nosed defense and was attacking the glass all game long. His effort never stops and he’ll always gives us a chance to win every game we play.

B-. Jordan ended up scoring double figures, but honestly his defense took a step back. Deandre Hunter is an elite player, but bottom line is Nwora has to be better. The buzzer beater at halftime was cool, but it seemed like Jordan got lazy and complacent as the game wore on.. PF. Louisville Cardinals. JORDAN NWORA

STEVEN ENOCH. F. Enoch had a bad game on both ends of the floor. Plain and simple. If you’re gonna miss bunnies and allow offensive rebounds, stay on the bench.. C. Louisville Cardinals

C+. Malik fought hard on both ends all game even though he didn’t get many shots to fall. His energy helped the team but neither big had a good day for the Cards in this one.. PF. Louisville Cardinals. MALIK WILLIAMS

PG. Louisville Cardinals. RYAN MCMAHON. B. Ryan gets a solid B for all those first half splashes. And because he was the MVP of this game that honestly felt like it had none. That’s it.

Darius played GREAT defense on Kyle Guy (aka floppy guy) the officials can shove their whistles where the sun don’t shine. Two quick fouls got him back on the bench, and when we did see him again the game was out of reach and he had little to no impact.. PG. Louisville Cardinals. DARIUS PERRY. C+

The Cardinals have some soul searching to do. If they can get out of their own way, who’s to say they can’t make a run in the tournament? The mental aspect of the game is almost more important than the physical side of things.

Let’s hope the Cards can at least get a victory against Boston College in their next game up. Maybe getting away from home could be a good thing. All I know is CardNation needs to stand behind this team no matter what. This year has been a hell of a ride so far, and a loss to a great UVA squad is by no means a resume killer.

Opportunity to step up and win is all around us. This coach and this team has shown us their toughness on more than one occasion. We all hate Virginia. It’s time to move on and forward. Go Cards.
