Syracuse

A squad that the Cards could draw in the first two rounds that should scare Cards fans is conference foe Syracuse. Louisville struggles mightily against long, athletic back courts and they didn’t stand a chance in their only regular season match up against the Orange.

Though Rick Pitino had Jim Boeheim’s number in his time in The Ville, Chris Mack’s squads may not be as well suited to solve the 2-3 zone riddle. This team in particular has four guards under 6’1″ who are forced to try to hold their own against Syracuse’s length.

If Louisville draws a 7 or 10 seed, they are unlikely to face this Syracuse squad, who is going to be in the same 5-12 area. However, should Louisville draw a 4 or 5 seed, Cuse could be waiting for them in the round of 32 with less than 48 hours to prepare.
