Nearing the final week of regular season play, which ACC teams are trending upwards, what teams are falling fast, and where does Louisville basketball stand?

Well, here we are. With just two weeks remaining in conference play we are diving into our first ever ACC power rankings. The last two to three weeks have been crazy, as has most of the season, for Louisville basketball.

After starting ACC play at 8-2, picking up huge wins over ranked opponents North Carolina (on the road), Virginia Tech, and North Carolina State, things have quickly unraveled for the Louisville.

First it was Florida State on the road, where the Cards blew a big second half lead before eventually dropping a winnable game in OT. Then came Duke, which we all know what happened there. Next came a near upset to Clemson in the final seconds before back to back losses from Syracuse and Virginia.

Much like Louisville, several other teams have taken big steps back after a nice start to the season and the conference schedule. Pittsburgh, North Carolina State, and even Virginia Tech have seen struggles recently, while North Carolina, Virginia, Florida State, and Syracuse have been on fire.

With just four games (roughly) for each ACC team we thought it was the prefect time to put together our first ACC power rankings. For the next three weeks we will release the rankings on Monday’s detailing the happenings across the best league in the country.

Even with being a Louisville blog, I’ve tried my best to be subjective by ranking teams based purely off performance. To my fellow Louisville fans, it’s been a rough few weeks but things are going to get better. For the rest of the ACC good luck and don’t count out the Cards.

Let’s get started.
