Former Louisville Cardinal and current Utah Jazzman Donovan Mitchell has a new pre-game ritual, and we are 100% here for it.
Donovan Mitchell is a national treasure who should be protected at all costs.
Most know it by now, but the second year NBA superstar out of Louisville is quickly becoming one of the most likeable guys in the NBA. He brings the high-flying, acrobatic, three point shooting prowess for a surprisingly fun Utah Jazz team. He is a leader on the court, and for the second year in a row, Utah’s playoff hopes live and die with the success of Mitchell.
What makes him truly great, however, is his undeniable charisma outside of the game. In a time where the NBA has never been more popular, “Spida” is becoming the loveable kid next door. He has it all: the charming good looks, the swagger (new shoes coming this July), and the down-to-earth persona that you don’t often find amongst a group of alpha males competing under one of the biggest spotlights.
What’s making us fanboy (and fangirl) even harder lately though, absolutely takes the cake. Before every Utah home game, Mitchell is giving away shoes to unsuspecting fans.
And, yes, it’s as great as you imagined it.
We don't know what's bigger, the kid's smile or @spidadmitchell's shoes 😄 pic.twitter.com/6DkYAcENgD

Even Ben Simmons would be smiling that big.
Jazz fan Brooklyn was emotional about receiving Donovan Mitchell’s shoes. #TeamIsEverything pic.twitter.com/a1iTRs9YAE

A mood.

That is a the cutest thing ever.
I mean, what else is he going to do, start giving his shoes to cute old ladies?

My heart cannot take it.
Look, say what you want about Donovan Mitchell. Many will see it as a publicity stunt, or a way to promote the Adidas brand. Whatever it is, we want more. We are eating this stuff up!
The reality is that Mitchell is a great player, but an even more special human being.
It’s actions like this that are making millions around the world fall in love with this kid more and more every day. Your friendly neighborhood spida-man is here to leave his imprint on the NBA, and the sports world as a whole.
