Louisville basketball shows signs of life in win over Notre Dame

CHRISTEN CUNNINGHAM. B+. Cunningham played like an All ACC performer as he has for majority of conference play with 14 points and four assist and four rebounds.. PG. Louisville Cardinals

SG. Louisville Cardinals. KHWAN FORE. C. Fore role is simple, play hard and be tenacious on the defensive end. He provided a solid contribution in his 12 minutes.

C. For Sutton’s standards, this was an off game but the team won in spite of it. He had four points, three rebounds, and an assist. Nowhere near his capabilities but he will bounce back.. SF. Louisville Cardinals. DWAYNE SUTTON

JORDAN NWORA. A-. Jordan Nwora continued to show why he is a legit NBA prospect . His three point shot wasn’t falling as he went 1-for-6 from the three point line but he found other ways to score. Nwora reach 20 points for twelfth time this season. He was active on the glass with 11 boards. When Nwora is playing well, Louisville will be a tough out.. PF. Louisville Cardinals

C. Enoch was solid in his limited minutes going 3-7 from the floor and registering six points.. C. Louisville Cardinals. STEVEN ENOCH

Louisville Cardinals. V.J. KING. A+. King’s energy ignited the entire arena. King was a magnet to the ball as the ball kept finding him. Every time VJ did something positive, the response from his teammates and the crowd was electric. At the 9:16 mark, scored on a driving layup while drawing the foul. His teammates surrounded him with with cheers and the building was deafening.. SF

A. At times, Williams was the best player on the court. He dominated the paint and give Louisville a presence that can counter days where the three point shots aren’t falling.. PF. Louisville Cardinals. MALIK WILLIAMS

Louisville Cardinals. RYAN MCMAHON. D+. McMahon’s struggled with his shot as he went 1-6 from the floor and didn’t make a three on five attempts.. PG

PG. Louisville Cardinals. DARIUS PERRY. B-. Perry brought a dynamism off the bench, scoring seven points and was able to spell Cunningham. He provided ball handling and hit one of the two threes Louisville made.

Louisville will now have six days off before heading out on the road for the final game against Virginia, getting a chance at revenge after losing 52-64 just eight days ago.

With the way the Cards bounced back strong today, the chance to get out onto the floor for five or so days will likely go a long way in rebuilding the confidence that has melted away over the last few weeks.
