The Tarheels slip to No. 2, but just barely. This week, they outlasted Syracuse at home, and then barely got away in a two point victory over Clemson in a game where they were without their coach, Roy Williams, for the majority of the game due to health reasons.

When Carolina is hot, they are one of the top 5 teams in the country, but out of the top 3 ACC squads in Duke, Virginia, and UNC, the Tar Heels seem like the most vulnerable team. They aren’t the best defensively, and when their stars Cam Johnson and Luke Maye aren’t at their best, it seems like they could slip to anyone. But if Coby White is playing the way he did this past week (averaged 31/5/4) they could be a legitimate threat to win it all.

However, a 5 game winning steak that includes wins over 4 teams in the top 7 of our power rankings is nothing to overlook. When North Carolina is clicking, they are daggum tough to beat.
