Virginia takes over at the No.1 spot this week after two throttlings of Pitt and Georgia Tech. The Hoos jump up one spot more because of Carolina’s brushes with trouble against Syracuse and Clemson than anything else.

Still, you could make a good argument for Virginia as the best team in the country, as you could for North Carolina and a healthy Duke. They continue to play as efficient offensively as the do defensively, and don’t think they aren’t being constantly reminded and motivated by their mind-boggling early exit in last years NCAA tournament.

Not to mention, DeAndre Hunter is developing into a legitimate top five NBA draft pick right in front of our very eyes. If they can keep him playing at this elite level, get the most out of Jerome & Guy, as well as have Jay Huff flourish, this could be the Virginia team that wins it all.
