Ville’ns Yearbook – Louisville Basketball Season Recap
Crowd of the Year: Duke game
This was one of the greatest atmospheres that I’ve ever been a part of at a sporting event. I think that crowd will go down as an all timer at the Yum Center but unfortunately won’t be remembered because of what ended up happening at that game, but dang was that fun for about 3/4 of the game.
When ACC play got going, I think that was really when the student section gained a lot of momentum and we saw a lot of improvement in the atmosphere at the Yum.
The Yum started to become a very tough place to play once again as the crowds got bigger and louder. This season we saw some of the best crowds in a long time, and I think they came in the stretch of the first few ACC home games.
Dunk of the Year: CC no-look lob to Jordan
This is just absolutely beautiful basketball and came during one of the best gameday atmospheres of the year while also getting revenge on Pittsburgh.
Game of the Year: Michigan State
This was such an awesome night.
Coach Mack’s first big win as the Cardinals head coach. Everybody that was in the Yum Center will never forget that night. Louisville played with more fight and more toughness than I have seen in a Cards team in a long time that night.
Considering the last few years, that celebration in the Yum was something special. We hadn’t seen the Yum like that in a long time, and that was unforgettable.
Most Unforgettable Moment: Now you’s can’t leave!
It still hasn’t gotten old.
Honorable Mention: The Chris Mack shimmy
Win of the Year: at No. 12 UNC
Without question, the best win of the season came in mid-January. Louisville shocked all of us when they just absolutely dominated North Carolina in Chapel Hill. Which was awesome to see.
This was the stretch where the Cardinals were playing their best basketball, and it was fun to watch.
This game also produced that dope Dwayne Sutton picture, which is also really cool.
