Steven Enoch – C

RS Junior

Just like Ryan McMahon, Steven Enoch is a name that many people really won’t think of as being on this list as he’s just a junior who has only played one season for Louisville. But when it comes to the redshirt junior big man, there are a few things to consider that make him a fit for this list of potential players leaving.

First off, much like McMahon, Enoch is a four year college player already having sat one year as a transfer at Louisville after leaving UConn. That means he is on track to graduate this May and would be eligible right away should he chose to play his final season elsewhere.

Another thing to consider with Enoch, who will have this degree in May, is the fact that he has potential opportunities ahead of him to play basketball professionally. That may not necessarily be the NBA, but with the goal of college already complete (getting the degree), a professional basketball ready physique, and the ability and experience of playing international basketball, Enoch could potentially decide he’s ready to go pro.

Again like McMahon, this isn’t something I know about or has even been something that’s talked about. However, when you look at Enoch already being 22 and graduating in the spring, no one would blame him if he left to pursue making money for what he is good at.

While Enoch is not necessarily NBA or even professionally ready to be a star, he is still relatively young enough to be a “project” for a few years while he gets better on the defensive end of the floor. But with the ability to play with his back to the basket like a traditional basketball big as well as face up with ability to shoot from mid-range, and most importantly in this day and age, the ability to shoot from deep. In his one year at Louisville, Enoch shot 52% and 36% from three, which would make him an interesting prospect across multiple leagues.

While coming back with the opportunity to play a big role on what should be a very good time is enticing, you wouldn’t be able to hold anything against a college graduate for pursuing paid opportunities to do what they love.

My Prediction: Steven Enoch returns for one more year at Louisville
