Final Verdict:

Again I can’t stress enough that all of this is just speculation in looking at the roster and potential moves that could be made. Nobody, aside from Ryan and VJ, have given any updates on their future and even those two were very careful in their wording.

If my predictions were to hold true Louisville would lose two players for next year in Jordan Nwora (who would leave for the NBA) and Darius Perry (who would leave as a transfer), opening up two scholarships for the 2019-20 season.

We know one thing is for sure regardless of what happens with players leaving, Louisville will be in the market for a point guard. In this scenario, I would watch for Chris Mack and his staff targeting graduate transfer point guards to come in and help a talented roster for Louisville take a step forward in terms of prospects on the season.

Louisville will be a much better team next season in terms of talent, size, athleticism, length, rebounding, scoring, etc. but their greatest need will be a veteran to hold the ship steady at the lead guard role just like Christen Cunningham did this year.

I’m not quite ready to throw out any names as the season hasn’t come to an end for a lot of teams. But look for plenty of guys to transfer from their respective programs and for Chris Mack and his staff to get involved if they have an available scholarship.
