Player to watch: Dez Fitzpatrick

As if you didn’t already know, the wide receiver group for Louisville is without a doubt the most talented and has the most depth heading into this season. If you don’t believe me, just take a look at the group above and keep in mind that three extremely talented receivers left and the Cards still have six to eight guys who could emerge as play makers this year.

Led by redshirt juniors Dez Fitzpatrick and senior Seth Dawkins, the Cards have it all. Speed (Tut Atwell, Keion Wakefield, Tyler Harrell), route running (Dez Fitzpatrick, Seth Dawkins, Josh Johnson), size (Seth Dawkins, DeVante Peete, Justin Marshall) and pure playmaking ability from top to bottom.

Led by new receivers coach Gunter Brewer, a former NFL coach, the wide receivers are going to be a group that shine night-in-and-nigh-out for Louisville against nearly everyone they face… ifthey can get a QB to get them the ball consistently.

Expect Dez Fitzpatrick to once again show that he’s a future NFL wide receiver and for Tutu Atwell to get the ball over the middle in space a lot unlike in the offense of Lonnie Galloway. If there’s any reason to be optimistic about the Louisville offense, it’s because of these guys right here.
