Scenario #5 – V.J. King, Jordan Nwora, and Steven Enoch all stay in the 2019 NBA Draft (or transfer)

While it wouldn’t be the end of the world, this scenario wouldn’t be ideal for Chris Mack and his Louisville basketball program next season. As I mentioned before, returning two or all there of these athletes gives the Cards a real chance at a Final Four run in Mack’s second year. While loosing all three would put Louisville into a “rebuilding” season.

The Cards would be out their top wing scorer, top wing defender, and best low post scoring threat and big body, and while bringing in a top recruiting class and returning guys like Darius Perry, Malik Williams, and Dwayne Sutton would be helpful, the Cards would have at least 9 new players who would have to learn to play for Chris Mack.

I wouldn’t say that this scenario is impossible but over the last few weeks we’ve alluded that all three players could benefit from either going pro or transferring,

If Mack were to have more scholarships available it wouldn’t be surprising to try and throw his hat in the ring for some of the nation’s top uncommitted talent in the class of 2019, or go after some of the elite transfers and grad-transfers.

Next. Three reasons Louisville basketball could be Final Four bound in 2020. dark

Should he land two or three grad transfers, maybe a Final Four run is still a possibility with the experience that’s needed to make a run like that, but it more than likely would be a bridge year where a Sweet 16 is the ceiling.
