Landen Bartleson

Running back, three-star

Danville, KY

6’1″ 185 pounds

Landen Bartleson is another player from the state of Kentucky who the Cards have been after for a while now. After taking over for the Petrino regime, Scott Satterfield and his staff reoffered Bartleson, the three-star running back/athlete.

Much like some of the other players in this piece, Bartelson has offers from a bevy of major Power Five programs including Ohio State, Michigan, Notre Dame, Tennessee, Purdue, and Kentucky. The interesting thing to note in his recruitment is the connection to safeties coach, ShaDon Brown.

Like Brown, Bartleson hails from Danville, Kentucky, and plays for the same high school were Brown once was an assistant back in the early 2000’s before jumping into coaching at the D1 level. Brown was also the primary recruiter for Bartleson during his time at Colorado, and while there’s no official word or detail on his recruitment now, will likely be a huge factor in helping the Cards land the talented athlete.

Depending on where you look, the Danville product is listed as a running back, athlete, and even a cornerback. Since the Cards reoffered a scholarship to Bartleson there hasn’t been much in terms of news for Louisville, but he has gone on unofficial visits to both Notre Dame and Purdue.

This is another recruitment that will be interesting to watch over the summer and into football season. If there’s any shot of keeping the running back from getting out of the state of Kentucky, Satterfield and company will need to get him on campus as soon as possible.
