Does Louisville add graduate transfers or JUCO talent to help with depth issues?

Well, Louisville has seen an exodus of transfers in the past few months. With 13+ guys headed elsewhere, Louisville now has holes at linebacker and defensive line. So you can expect that Louisville will likely be adding players to the roster throughout the summer as the program goes through a much needed sweeping culture change.

Speaking with Mark Ennis of 93.9 FM’s The Drive earlier this month, Scott Satterfield said:

"“That’s the most glaring weakness I’ve seen is the amount of depth that we don’t have that we need. We have to continue to build that depth up.” “There are couple spots where we need to add depth, obviously offensive line and tight end are two of those spots”"

So far, Satterfield & co. have done a good job with the disadvantages they were faced with, adding several offensive linemen and 2 tight ends – which were the two most glaring immediate issues.

You could expect Satterfield to continue tapping into the transfer portal to find the right replacements – and that’s what is important right now, finding the right guys. The last thing Satterfield needs to do is add guys to the roster that will eat up scholarships that don’t belong here, and he’s already stated that he and the staff are making sure that doesn’t happen.
