Samuell Williamson – SF

Player Comparison: Francisco Garcia

Samuell Williamson is one of the most talked-about players to commit to Louisville basketball in a long time.

Though it was Igiehon who stole much of the spotlight early on, Williamson has been making noise as an elite-level player throughout his senior year of high school.

Most recently Williamson was named a McDonald’s All-American and is considered one of the most underrated players in the 2019 class by many of his contemporaries and scouts alike.

Williamson could easily be compared to former Cardinal great Francisco Garcia.

Like Garcia, Williamson is a long, lanky guard/ forward combo who can handle the rock and spot up from anywhere.

What’s underrated about Williamson’s game is that he has tremendous court awareness and is an outstanding passer. If he can improve his strength and maybe become a bit more consistent from downtown, there is no reason to believe that he can’t be every bit of the player that Garcia was.

Garcia played the three a lot while at Louisville, but it seems that Williamson would fit perfectly as a two guard in Chris Mack’s system as well.

If you’re looking for the player in the Super Six that has the highest potential ceiling and could be the next Cardinal great, look no further than Samuell Williamson.
