Chris Mack and the Louisville basketball staff are working hard to put together another stellar class for 2020. Who would be the ideal class for the Cards?

When Chris Mack took over the Louisville basketball program in 2018 there was a strong belief that it was going to take years for the new staff to get back to the winning ways, both on the court and on the recruiting trail. But apparently, someone forgot to tell that to Mack directly.

With the belief in himself, his players, and his ability to sell an amazing program, Chris Mack hit the ground running putting together a top 10 recruiting class while winning 20+ games in his first year at Louisville.

Now, heading into his second season, there are no plans to stop there. Mack and company have been all over the country the past few weeks looking to build on the success of Louisville basketball in 2018-2019 for the class of 2020.

The Cards have extended at least five scholarships over the last 10-12 days or so, bringing their total for the class of 2020 to 13 according to 247Sports.com.

We know that as of today (pre-Jordan Nwora and Steven Enoch NBA Draft announcements) that the Cards will have four scholarships available to use in the 2020 class which comes from Dwayne Sutton, Ryan McMahon, Fresh Kimble, and Steven Enoch all graduating. If Enoch and Nwora decide to keep their names in the 2019 Draft, Louisville could make a few moves that would make that number higher or lower.

Last week Presley Meyer wrote about the biggest areas of need for Louisville basketball and with that in mind, we’ll try and put together the “ideal” wish list for the class of 2020. Because there’s still so much unknown regarding the 2019 roster and how the scholarships will shake out, I’ll operate under the assumption that Mack and the Cards take a five-man class.

So without further ado, here are five recruits that make up the ideal wish list for the Cards in 2020.
