Jayden Scrubb – SG

Position ranking: n/a

Louisville, KY (John Logan College) – 6’6″ 220 pounds

Before we dive into the top five recruits who make the ideal class for the Cards in 2020, I wanted to start with a “wildcard.”

If you’re from Louisville you likely are familiar with Jayden Scrubb, who played his high school ball at Trinity, before moving on to play at John Logan College in Illinois as a JUCO player.

After absolutely dominating the JUCO level as a freshman, Scrubb is now seeing his recruitment blow up on a national level and has received a lot of interest from Chris Mack and Louisville basketball.

While there are a lot of guys who would be ahead of Scrubb, landing a player with local ties and is a former teammate of incoming freshman David Johnson, would be a great play for Mack and future recruiting.

He’s no “scrubb” either (yes, pun intended).

As a freshman at Logan, the 6’6″ wing was the only freshman on any level to be named to the NJCAA All-American first team, scoring 19.5 points, 8.6 rebounds per game while shooting 55 percent from the field and 47 percent from three.

His performance has led to Cincinnati, Xavier, Creighton, and VCU extending scholarship offers while also receiving major interest from Louisville, West Virginia, Seton Hall, Missouri and plenty of others.

Scrubb will visit the Louisville campus, one he’s already familiar with, this week and hopes to receive an offer while he’s there. His recruitment with Louisville will depend on how things go with several of the other players on this list, but if he does end up a Card it wouldn’t be because they settled for lesser-talent. The local kid can flat out ball.
