Jaylen Hoard – Wake Forest

Position ranking: 13

Overall ranking: 45

Just like King, anyone considering drafting freshman Jaylen Hoard would be doing so based off of potential not production. As Wake Forest’s best player in 2018-19, Hoard averaged only 13 points and 7 rebounds per game but flashed an array of skills that caught the eye of NBA talent evaluators.

While he probably needs another year or two to reach the potential that many believes he has, staying at Wake Forest seems silly as they’ve become a black pit of sorts in the ACC over the last few seasons under Danny Manning.

At 6’8, 215 pounds scouts and GM’s will likely value the size and athleticism Hoard displays, but it’s his versatility that will likely draw the most awe. Shooting at just a 22 percent clip from three could have a huge impact on his decision to stay in the draft or return, and the question will be, do teams want to wait for that to develop or go for a more polished all-around scorer like Nwora?

However, if Hoard shoots well and has strong measurables don’t be shocked to see him be mocked higher than Nwora.
