Chatarius ‘Tutu’ Atwell – WR – So.

Speaking of players to cheer for this upcoming season – Tutu Atwell should be a fan favorite at wide receiver this season.

A freshman last season, Atwell was able to put together a solid highlight reel at wide receiver, despite his team only winning two games. Lacking the height fans have grown accustomed to with Louisville receivers, Tutu’s speed and versatility make him an offensive weapon that more than make up for it.

Here are a few stats that should make every Louisville football fan immediately hit the ‘buy’ button for Atwell’s upcoming sophomore campaign:

  • As a freshman, Tutu led all Louisville wide receivers last season in yards per catch – averaging just under 17 yards a game (16.9 to be exact), also ranking him sixth in the ACC.
  • Atwell was Louisville’s first Freshman wide receiver since 2011 to have multiple touchdowns in a single game (Georgia Tech).
  • Tutu had the longest reception of Louisville’s 2018 season – a 53-yard reception vs Florida State – and a handful of other receptions throughout the season of +20 yards.

Simply put, Tutu Atwell is a playmaker.

With a new offensive scheme behind him, any athlete that can still shine despite one of the worst seasons in a program’s history – is an athlete poised for a breakout season.
