Louisville football has produced a number of dynamic playmakers since 2000. We created an All-Century team of former Cardinals.
Since the turn of the century, Louisville football has had a meteoric rise from irrelevancy to a national contender year in and year out.
However, that would not have been possible without the contributions of some pretty incredible players. Two BCS bowl game victories, top ten national rankings, a half dozen conference championships have been made possible by the recruiting and development of some of the best players in the country.
Since 2000, Louisville has twice expanded its stadium, jumped from Conference USA to the Big East to the AAC to the ACC. Along the way, the talent has improved, but so has the competition. The Cards were so successful through the 21st Century that they were ranked as the 19th most winningest team since 2000 (prior to the 2-10 meltdown) holding a 154-74 ranking.
As if the winning record wasn’t enough, Louisville has also produced plenty of NFL talent. Since the year 2000, the Cards have had 54 players drafted into the NFL, including 9 first round picks, which is 32nd amongst all college football programs.
That makes examining all of the talent a bit more tricky and means that though we made our best effort to select the best players at every position, this list is still quite subjective.
So, without further ado, we present the Louisville football All-Century offensive team.
