Running back – Michael Bush

The Louisville native was a highly recruited prospect coming out of Male High School and to this day remains one of the highest rated recruits that Louisville has ever signed. Michael Bush could’ve gone anywhere in the country, and he chose to to stay home and play for his city.

Bush went on to become one of the best running backs in Louisville history. Rushing for over 500 yards and 6 touchdowns as a freshmen, Bush showed some real promise. He went on to rush for nearly 2,000 yards in the next two years and 30 touchdowns.

Serious Heisman hype was surrounding Michael Bush coming into his senior year. He was ready for a monster season – rushing for 128 yards and 3 touchdowns (nearly all in the 1st half) against arch rival UK.. until he broke his leg in the 3rd quarter.

Coming into the season, Bush was being discussed as a potential top 10 pick in the NFL Draft, and it’s a shame we all didn’t get to see what he had in store for us his senior season. Nonetheless, Michael Bush was a beast and will always be one of the best to wear the red and black.
