Eastern Kentucky

Week 2: September 7th

Much like last season, Louisville will likely be heading into the second week of the season looking for their first win. Last year it was Alabama who handed Louisville a 51-14 loss, sending the Cards into a week two matchup at home against Indiana State.

We all know how the matchup with Indiana State went last season (I’m still attempting to dry out my clothes from that night) and for the sanity of Cardnation and the new coaching staff, hopefully, this year’s week two game against EKU won’t take as many years off of our life.

Eastern Ky. was a much-improved football team in 2018, going 7-5 on the season, after combining to win just seven games the two seasons prior. While Louisville is a team still with a lot of roster holes and depth issues, the players who will take the field on September 7th will be far superior in talent.

With it being an 8 pm kickoff and the fan base showing up hungry to see the first win of the Satterfield era (assuming it doesn’t happen against Notre Dame), I expect Louisville to be able to take care of business fairly easily and for Cardinal fans to be able to get to their post-game activities much quicker than week two of last season.
