12/21/16 vs. No. 16 Kentucky – W 73-70

This Kentucky team was one of the most athletic (if not the most athletic) teams in recent memory. The backcourt duo of DeAaron Fox and Malik Monk should have been too much speed and firepower to handle.’s

But the majority who picked UK to win this one forgot about one thing: this was Quentin Snider’s final opportunity to beat the Cats in his home arena, in front of 20,000+ screaming Cardinal fans. The junior PG took full advantage of it.

Sometimes while watching a game you just get a good feeling. It’s no secret that especially in recent years Louisville getting beat by UK has kind of been a foregone conclusion. But not this time, not if Q had anything to say about it. The notoriously soft-spoken, cool and collected leader of this Cards squad came out with a vengeance that the rest of the guys followed.

The game was close pretty much the whole way, and there were plenty of moments where it seemed like UK was ready to break it open – but Louisville hung in there. Every time the Cats punched, these Cards punched back. Finally, Q dropped the boom on Bam, a play that will never be forgotten. It’s 1:36 in the video, you’re welcome.

We always play those dudes from Lexington tough, but it’s so much sweeter to come out with a win. Especially when the Louisville kid drops a game-high 22 points and takes an eventual lottery picks ankles home with him. Yep, still feels good.
