As the season approaches, Louisville football has a number of players who aren’t in starting roles quite yet but could still make a huge impact.

Louisville football has some quality players in presumptive starting roles going into the 2019 season. However, there are some overlooked players at every position every year over the offseason.

The 2015 offseason was a summer filled with talk about Kyle Bolin and Reggie Bonnafon, and banter about who would be the presumptive starter. Almost no one talked about true Freshman Lamar Jackson, who stole the show during Louisville football’s season opener against Auburn and went on to be the best player in school history.

Often times, players we know little about are written off in the offseason only to become some of the most consistent and productive players during the regular season.

There couldn’t be a more opportune time for a current Card to have a break-out year, or simply surprise everyone with his production.

Under first-year head coach Scott Satterfield, Louisville football is looking to not only change some vibes around the program but turn some heads by getting back on track ahead of schedule. In order to do so, Louisville is going to need some production from a number of players who didn’t get an opportunity to step up in 2018.

We put together a list of one player from each position group that is underrated going into the 2019 season.
