Running back

Dae Williams

Much of the talk surrounding Louisville’s running backs unit is centered around rising sophomore Hassan Hall. Many should be talking about Dae Williams going into the fall.

Williams made waves during the spring in 2017 as a potential starter but then tore his ACL. He came back from his injury remarkably quick, and in his first game back against Florida State in 2017, he made an immediate impact rushing five times for 41 yards and a touchdown.

More. Dae Williams could be a touchdown machine for Louisville football. light

That year, he accounted for 235 yards rushing and three touchdowns on only 38 carries. Last season, he rushed for 77 yards and two scores on only 22 carries before suffering a season-ending injury. Williams is a touchdown machine, and he does it using a no-nonsense approach. He is a straight line runner with decent breakaway speed for his size (6-2. 230 lbs) and hits holes as well as any back on the team.

Though he is unlikely to make a start in 2019, Williams will be an excellent change of pace back for Louisville football and could easily be the Cards goal line back. Using Williams’ as a power back could be a huge factor in the Cardinals offense this season.
