Offensive Line

Adonis Boone

While Adonis Boone didn’t get much of an opportunity to play during his freshman season, the lack of depth and need for talent on the offensive line should change that this season.

Especially when you consider that the former three-star offensive lineman has the size and strength to play tackle or guard while possessing the speed and athleticism to play the tight end position. That alone should leave new offensive line coach Dwayne Ledford salivating over the potential of the 6’6, 300-pound sophomore.

If Boone is going to win a starting job, it will probably come at the right tackle position which at the moment is wide open. He’ll likely be competing with Caleb Chandler (who could also play inside at guard) along with incoming freshman Renato Brown, Zach Williamson, and senior Ronald Rudd.

There’s no guarantee that Boone will see the field in large chunks this season, but his mix of speed and power make him an enticing breakout player to watch this year for the Cardinals offensive line, a unit that desperately needs new faces to come alive in 2019.
