Inside Linebacker

Quen Head

Half of Louisville’s linebacking unit in 2019 could, at times, be comprised of two JUCO transfers from Hutchinson Community College.

Quen Head who, like Montgomery, played for the JUCO in Kansas for a year, found his way into a reserve role for Louisville last year and is looking to take the next step.

Head is a guy who translates perfectly to Bryan Brown’s system, and he was recruited by co-DC Cort Dennison out of JUCO during his first stint with the Cards.

What will get Head some more playing time in 2019 is his ability to read offenses well and take proper angles to the ball-carrier. Though he probably wasn’t ready physically to be an every down type of guy in 2018, with another year of experience, Head could now be the biggest breakout name on Louisville’s defense during his Junior year.
