Louisville football recruiting providing new hope in the future to Cardnation
June 15th
Rising offensive tackle Timothy Lawson commits to the Cards over NC State and North Carolina.
Many believed that after the commitments of some offensive linemen recently, Timothy Lawson would wind up at another ACC school on his list, especially considering that he was down to three schools that included Louisville along with North Carolina and North Carolina State.
However, Lawson had his mind made up and wanted to join the Band of Brothers regardless of other commits- a testament to what Louisville is building right now.
Scott Satterfield has continued to show over the last few weeks that offensive line is a position where they need help the most. Along with Lawson, the Cards hold a commitment from three offensive linemen, and more are definitely coming.
Dwayne Ledford’s “endearing personality and passion for the game,” as Ross Prophater put it, are translating well in recruiting and he is getting the guys that he needs to take this Louisville offensive line to levels where he had North Carolina State.
Athlete Duane Martin pledges commitment to the Cards.
Duane Martin is maybe the most under-the-radar commitment for the 2020 class so far. The one-time East Carolina commit is most likely going to be tight end/ h-back when he arrives at The Ville, but due to him spending time playing running back and inside linebacker, he’s recruitment has been a bit slow.
Don’t let that fool you.

Though he isn’t a highly sought-after recruit quite yet, who are we to question what this coaching staff is putting together? These guys know what they are looking for, and what specific skills on the field will translate to high level of performance,
Welcome to the Ville, Duane.
Kicker Brock Travelstead says that he will be a Cardinal.
Three commits in one day? Sheesh.
This time, the commitment is from one of the top five kickers in the country, Brock Travelstead.
Winning in all three phases is something you’ll hear Satterfield say quite a bit, and using a scholarship on a kicker like Travelstead, shows that these coaches are putting that plan into action.
What a week it’s been, and the best news is that it’s probably not over. The class is currently within the top 25 according to 247 Sports, which is mind-blowing. When the new staff took over there was a lot of questioning whether or not they’d be able to get the players they need to get the program back on track, and much like Chris Mack did with basketball, they’ve proven doubters wrong.
The class won’t stay that high for the long-term, but it doesn’t matter. This staff has shown the ability to host big events, invite talented players on campus, sell a message and vision to players and family about family, and most importantly, close.
Louisville football recruiting is back, folks.
