Seven bold predictions for the Louisville football 2019 season

Presley Meyer – Louisville will allow fewer than 20 sacks
The Cards begin anew with offensive coordinator Dwayne Ledford at the helm, and one thing that I look for right away is improved offensive line play and overall offensive efficiency.
Allowing sacks in more than miscues on one-on-one individual matchups. The Cards have to be firing on all cylinders in order to improve from last season’s 44 sacks allowed. The center, whoever that winds up being, has to be on the same page with the quarterback, and the rest of the offense has to be in sync as well. Receivers have to be able to create separation, and blockers out of the backfield have to know their assignments. A lot of that was off in 2018, leading to that 4 sack per game average.
Enter Ledford, a certified offensive lineman whisperer. who developed a reputation at NC State after completely transforming the Wolpack’s poor line play. He is considered one of the best up and coming offensive minds in the college game, and he is looking to add a reinvented Louisville line to his resume.
Louisville has the weapons to improve significantly up front. It’s more a matter of getting everyone on the same page and playing sound fundamentally. There are teams that will get into the Cards’s backfield, but look for Satterfield and Ledford to combat that with their play-calling.
