Hassan Hall – Running back

Sophomore

There hasn’t been a 1,000-yard running back for Louisville since 2010 (almost a FULL decade) when Bilal Powell rushed for almost 1,500 yards as a senior. Some have come close, while in other seasons like last year, 1,000 yards in total rushing offense seemed impossible at times.

Hitting that clip this year won’t be a problem as a team, and for Hassan Hall, he very well could be the running back who breaks the nine-year drought.

In 2018, App State ran the football nearly 42 times per game, with Darrynton Evans leading the way at 179 carries, and Marcus Williams not far behind with 122. Compare that to Hassan Hall, who carried the ball just 70 times as a freshman, with only four matchups featuring him carry the ball more than 10 times.

As a freshman, Hall was electric with the football once he finally got an opportunity, and in only games became the team’s best rusher. He finished with 304 yards and three touchdowns with 99 yards receiver and a kick off return for a touchdown. It’s simple – get Hall the ball and get out of his way.

I fully expect the coaching staff to do just that this season, and as long as the offensive line can hold up their end of the deal, Hall could be looking at becoming the next great Louisville running back.
