Louisville football currently holds 20 commitments in the class of 2020, and now will become more selective in who they take on ahead of next season.
Louisville football recruiting has been off the charts over the last month and a half, as the new staff’s long hours and countless days out around the country have begun paying off tenfold.
After having just three commits heading into the month of June, the Cards received an incredible 17 commits in a span of fewer than 30 days, taking their class from the 40/50 range all the way up to number 24 according to 247 Sports composite team rankings.
Now with somewhere between eight to 10 scholarships to fill before National Signing Day in February (Early signing period will commence in mid-December), Scott Satterfield and his staff can be extremely diligent and selective with who they take to fill out the class of 2020.
As Keith Wynne of CardChronicle told us on the Big Red Louie podcast a few weeks ago, the new coaching staff is all about bringing players in for face-to-face meetings and relationship building. That will make the 2019 football season extremely important as the team not only will be looking to win on the field but with potential recruits who are checking out the campus on unofficial and official visits.
If Satterfield’s team performs well and exceeds “expectations” earlier than expected you could see more highly sought after three and four-star recruits really begin taking a hard look at Louisville and it shouldn’t come as a shock. Even with 20 players already in the class, early playing time will be available for incoming freshmen next season at the highest level of the ACC.
With that in mind, let’s take a look at five guys who the Cards will be hoping to land to close out the 2020 class who could be difference-makers right away at their respective positions.
