Christian Fitzpatrick – Wide receiver

6’4, 210-pounds

Considering: Louisville, Penn State, Missouri, West Virginia

It doesn’t take a recruiting guru to recognize the last name of our first player to watch. Christian Fitzpatrick is the younger brother of current Louisville wide receiver Dez and is currently in the midst of having his recruitment explode on the national scene.

Louisville obviously has a big chance to land the three-star receiver out of Michigan due to his relationship with the program, however, it is by no means a lock.

Fitzpatrick has offers from several power five programs like Penn State, Missouri, West Virginia, Syracuse, Oregon, and Purdue, and will likely add more offers to his list as a senior. He’s been on campus a bunch watching his brother play and has more insight into the coaching staff, culture change, etc. than any recruit out there.

The soon to be senior receiver is receiving serious interest from Penn State, Missouri, and West Virginia, all of whom could easily pluck the big-time playmaker out of the Cards hand. With there being uncertainty about how Satterfield uses his receivers in a run-heavy offense, it wouldn’t be shocking to see Fitzpatrick wait before making any decision on his future, but we’d all be silly to think he wouldn’t seriously consider the Cards.

Fitzpatrick talked with Ross Prophater earlier this summer saying,

"“I spent a lot of 1-on-1 time with Coach Brewer. For like over an hour we went over a lot of NFL tape and who he’s coached in the past, guys like Randy Moss, Dez Bryant and Justin Blackmon. Coach Brewer had broken down a lot of my film and he was making comparisons of my size and skill set to Philadelphia Eagles wide out Alshon Jeffrey (who he coached this past season)."

Landing Fitzpatrick would be huge as the Cards need at least one more serious playmaker in the class, and gaining a commitment from a player whose brother went through the good and bad of the last two seasons would say a lot about the future of the program.
