Yaya Diaby – Defensive end

6’4, 255-pounds

Considering: Louisville, Colorado, Central Florida

Georgia Military College defensive end Yaya Diaby may not have the flashiest offer sheet at the moment, but what he lacks in offers, he makes up for in serious potential at the FBS level.

At 6’4, 255-pounds Diaby has NFL-like size for the defensive end/edge rusher position, while also having elite athleticism and playmaking ability. While he’s only rated as the 30th best junior college player in the class of 2020, it doesn’t take long to realize why the staff is hot after him and why so many following the program are drooling over his potential.

Diaby has elite intangibles. Yes, that word “elite” is one that’s tossed all over the place and used in places it shouldn’t be, in this case I mean it. Our resident football nerd Ross Prophater (@rosspro) has been all over him since the second he stepped on campus. He raves about his size and speed combo and his fit at the defensive spot due to his explosiveness, long arms, high motor, ability to bend off the edge and maintain great pad level while playing fast as well as the instincts you notice right away when you watch his highlight tape.

My guess is several more power five schools will get in the mix for Diaby as the football season goes on, but with teammates Marvin Dallas and Trevor Reid already committed to Louisville, I think the Cards will be in a good place to land Diaby down the stretch.
