Louisville football will look to close 2020 class with these five players
By Jacob Lane
Marcus Dumervil – Offensive tackle
6’5, 330-pounds
Considering: Alabama, Oklahoma, LSU, Louisville
One member of the Dumervil family has already put his name into the record books for the Cardinals, and we may soon get the chance to watch another member of the crew do the same thing on the opposite side of the ball.
If you haven’t heard yet, Elvis Durmervil’s nephew is a massive, four-star offensive lineman in the class of 2020 who is out at exposure camps absolutely destroying some of the top defensive players in the country.
From a glance, you’d think there’d be no chance that the Cards could land a player who holds offers from every major program including Alabama, Oklahoma, LSU, and plenty of others. But between his family lineage and his budding relationship with new offensive line coach Dwayne Ledford, Louisville has a legitimate chance of landing one of the nation’s top tackles.
Dumervil will be courted by the cream of the crop, but that doesn’t mean Louisville should be counted out. Marcus Dumervil told Rivals.com Mark Ennis,
"“His (Dwayne Ledford) pedigree, his resume speaks for itself. Just look at what he’s done with the players he’s had and it really just speaks for itself.”"
Landing Dumervil would give Scott Satterfield and his staff another headliner name to go along with Chubba Purdy, Kobe Baynes, and Henry Bryant in the class of 2020, and would put the offensive line back in a position to begin dominating the ACC once again. It would also signify to the top recruits around the country that Louisville is once again a promising destination to build a future at.
If Louisville is able to land Marcus Dumervil, or any number of the players on this list, the rebuilding for Scott Satterfield and company will get a little bit easier and put the Cards way ahead of schedule.
