To me, the answer is rather obvious, the x-factor in 2019 for the Louisville offense will be Seth Dawkins.

Again, when you look at a receiver who for three straight seasons has been the number three receiver (still a starter) on the food chart and still total for 78 receptions, 1,162 yards, 6 touchdowns with a 14.9 yards per catch average it shows that the talent is serious.

With ACC teams sending all the help they can to cover Dez Fitzpatrick while trying to maintain the playmaking ability of Tutu Atwell in the slot, opportunities are going to be there for Dawkins quite often.

Whether it’s a simple short hitch route or a curl over the middle of the field, or a deep ball down the sideline, Dawkins has shown the ability to make a couple of defenders miss and nearly take it to the house time and time again.

He’s got great hands, is a quality route-runner, and knows how to use his size and strength to get open – not to mention, he’s a monster to bring down when he’s on the move especially with his patented stiff arm.

ACC corners are some of the best in the country, but with a capable offense and time for Jawon Pass to make the right throw – Dawkins could very well be in for his best season yet as a Cardinal. The offense won’t throw the ball nearly as many times as they used to under Petrino, but if Satterfield and Ledford can set up the run the way they are used to, opportunities for plays in the air will be there and if anyone can make a lot out of a little, it’s Dawkins.
