Louisville football has a secondary filled with young talent and some key pieces that can provide depth in 2019.

In 2019, Louisville football transitions to a new scheme under new head coach Scott Satterfield and co-defensive coordinators Bryan Brown and Cort Dennison.

The new staff takes over a team with a lot of players who are unproven but have the potential for breakout years in 2019.

Nowhere is this truer than in the secondary, which will be coached by Bryan Brown (Cornerbacks coach) and Danville product ShaDon Brown (safeties) who comes to the program after spending time at Colorado.

Louisville football brings back most of its depth from 2018 and will look to build upon a season where a lot of different guys saw valuable playing time, but in a situation with poor game-planning and schemes that left them out of place. Two familar faces have moved positions, including Rodjay Burns, who was the team’s starting corner last season but will play the CARD/OLB position while Russ Yeast will move to safety.

Under the new staff, the Cards will look to rebound by bringing a new style of play and a new swagger to a position group that is looking to have a bounceback year and has the talent and depth to do so.
