Basketball recruiting is heating up as the fall quickly approaches. Where do things currently stand for Louisville basketball in their pursuit of 2020 wings, forwards, and big men?

This weekend we took a close look at the Louisville basketball recruiting big board and where Chris Mack and his staff stand with numerous prospects at the guard position in their second full recruiting cycle.

After landing a top 10 class in 2019, Mack and company have plenty of work to do in order to continue their recruiting success, and this summer have made several of the nation’s top 2020 recruits their top targets.

With success comes a target on your back, and that is what Chris Mack is preparing for during this recruiting cycle, as he spent last season proving to everyone he could beat out some of the nation’s top programs for elite players – ala Sam Williamson, Aidan Igiehon, and others.

This summer in their pursuit of five stars and high-level four-stars, Mack and his staff find themselves chasing after players with offers from the elite of the elite. Whether it’s North Carolina, Duke, Arizona, Kansas, or Kentucky, in targeting players he believes could take the Louisville program to the next level, Mack will go head-to-head with hall-of-fame coaches recruiting at traditional “blue blood programs.”

As mentioned, we examined the point guard and combo guard positions earlier this week and now we’ll spend our time looking at who the Cards are targeting at the wing, combo forward, and center positions for 2020.

Can Chris Mack, Luke Murray, Dino Gaudio, and Mike Pegues put together another top 10 class? Will they be able to hold off the Duke’s and Kentucky’s of the world for top 25 players? Will 2020’s class be better than 2019?

Those questions will be answered soon enough, but for today, let’s start by taking a look at the big board for the Cards.
