Former Louisville Cardinal and current Utah Jazz superstar Donovan Mitchell is primed to make a huge jump in his third year in the NBA.

Donovan Mitchell is on fire. Everywhere you look, the Utah Jazz star, who is entering his third NBA season, is making headlines.

What began as a pick that many were surprised over in the 2017 NBA draft quickly blossomed into Mitchell earning a starting spot, then gaining traction by winning the NBA dunk contest, and then going full god mode by leading a team that had no business in the playoffs to a first-round playoff series win.

In his second act, Mitchell continued to impress, improving in nearly every statistical category and leading yet another team without another true star to a high seed in a very difficult Western Conference.

He’s done damn near every “All-Star” thing there is to do. Now, in year three, Mitchell is hoping to take his game to the next level by actually making it to the game.

To do so, it will take a solid effort. The Western Conference may have gotten even stronger this offseason and certainly will be more balanced. However, Mitchell stands about as good of a chance as anyone to receive the nod in year three. Here are three reasons why:
