NC State

DJ: When Louisville goes on the road at NC State, I expect a major regression from NC State. Louisville can pull off the upset. Louisville will pull off the upset.

Will: If it wasn’t the Clemson game or the home loss to Kentucky, the lowest moment of the 2018 season came in a 52-10 home loss to the NC State Wolfpack. Losing to NC State is nothing to be ashamed of, they’ve earned a bowl bid in every season of this decade except for 2013. But thinking Louisville could emerge victorious on the road one season after losing by 42 at home, it’s hard to imagine.

Alan: A budding Wolfpack offense is on full display as the late-game heroics of Puma Pass and receiver Tutu Atwell fall well short of making this game competitive.

Louisville 27, NC State 52 (4-6)

Presley: The Wolfpack have lost the bulk of their starters to the NFL over the last few years, and the players waiting in the wings are largely unproven. State rebuilds their entire offense this season, while their defense returns many of their starters. However, the lack of pass rush and average secondary could bode well for the Cards’ downfield passing. This feels like a game that is there for the taking for Louisville.

Louisville 27, NC State 23 (5-5)

Ethan: The road trip continues against one of the better football programs in the ACC. Louisville and NC State have gone back and forth a lot since joining the ACC, it’s always a fun game to watch when the two face off. NC State is another team that loses a lot from last year. Ryan Finley is gone, a lot of their linemen are gone, not to mention their offensive line coach, Dwayne Ledford is now our offensive coordinator, and their offensive coordinator left to go fill Satterfield’s spot at Appalachian State. We see a very a much-improved defense in this game as the guys really start to buy into Bryan Brown and his scheme. Cards bounce back in this one.
