Western Kentucky

DJ: WKU will not be a cakewalk. I repeat will not be a cakewalk. This is the same team that Louisville needed a block field goal in the third quarter, and a quarterback change to defeat WKU at home. I expect Louisville to win but by the sightliest of margins.

Louisville 28, WKU 24 (2-1)

Will: Louisville football heads to Nashville in week 3 for a neutral site matchup with the Western Kentucky Hilltoppers. The Tops & Cards hadn’t met since 1998 before last season when the Cards barely squeaked out a 3 point victory at home. Both teams should be well represented at Nissan Stadium in Nashville. The Cards will look very different from the 2018 version of themselves in this one. I see Louisville coming to play in an early must-win game

Louisville 34, WKU 20 (2-1)

Alan: With both teams undergoing a makeover in the offseason, this one gets a tad sloppy as the game wears on. Puma Pass shows flashes of poise in the pocket, throwing for career highs in passing yards and passing touchdowns in a game.

Louisville 35, WKU 24 (2-1)

Presley: This game was way too close for comfort in 2018, and Western would love nothing more than to notch a signature early in the Tyson Helton era. However, don’t think players don’t remember how close that game was last year. Louisville should impose their will on defense and speed will kill as the Cards get loose in the Hilltoppers secondary.

Louisville 45, WKU 17 (2-1)

Ethan: The first road trip of the Scott Satterfield era should be another confidence booster for this Louisville team. Louisville still managed to beat WKU even with everything going on last season (albeit barely). Louisville hardly lost anybody from last year’s young team so if they fail to beat this less talented WKU team going through a similar transition, I think it would rightfully cause some worry. WKU is not good, they went 3-9 last year, Louisville should have little trouble dispatching them this time with a new coaching staff and a new life breathed into the program. Expect to see a lot more improvement from a more confident Jawon Pass in this game.
