Florida State

DJ: Florida State has become a mini rivalry which makes this matchup entertaining. However , FSU is superior in overall talent. Willie Targgart will be in year two after taking lumps in year one. The word out of Tallahassee is James Blackman is on the verge of becoming a Star. FSU Offensive line is still a question and their running game will be a question. If Louisville’s defensive line can cause penetration and control the line of scrimmage, this game will come down to the wire.

Louisville 20, FSU 31 (2-2)

Will: Louisville’s first road game & conference opponent is familiar foe Florida St. The Seminoles didn’t make a bowl game for the first time in 40 years last season. It also took a near miracle for them to edge our Cards at Cardinal Stadium in the final minutes. Both of these programs are supposed to be better than what they were in 2018. So I expect Florida St. to find it’s way back into postseason play and I expect Louisville to be highly competitive in Tallahassee

Louisville 24, Florida St. 27 (2-2)

Alan: As much as Seminole Nation would love to say this one is a gimme, Louisville’s defense is the story of the day. The Cardinals allow next to nothing on the edge all game long in a grinder.

Louisville 24, FSU 20 (3-1)

Presley: If Louisville is the biggest mystery in the ACC Atlantic, FSU is a close second. Like the Cards, FSU has an abundance of elite-level talent- it’s simply a matter of team culture and getting players to mesh and work together. The difference in this game is that Willie Taggart is fighting for his job and cannot afford to lose to a team that was the worst in the conference last season, especially at home.

Louisville 27, FSU 32 (2-2)

Ethan: This is quite possibly the most difficult game to predict for Louisville football this season. Louisville has always played Florida State very well since joining the ACC and was about to beat them for the 3rd year in a row last season until Bobby made one of the worst coaching decisions you will ever see. We all know what happened after that. Florida State is a mess right now, maybe even more of a mess than Louisville is despite the win totals last season. There’s no excitement around that program and word out of Tallahassee is that Willie Taggert is just in over his head there. Expect Louisville to come out fiery and ready to play, these guys will want this one after last season. But this team might not be just quite ready to pull off a tough road win like this so early on. Louisville falls just shy in the 4th.

Louisville 23, FSU 28 (2-2)
