Clemson

DJ: Clemson is the defending champs and is in prime position to repeat. The Tigers beat the Cardinals 77-16 last year. Louisville has never beat Clemson since joining the ACC. This will be a waxing.

Louisville 10, Clemson 55 (2-5)

Will: This one is gonna be tough. Last year’s 77-16 defeat at Clemson was one of the more demoralizing watch experiences a UofL fan could imagine. The Tigers had 4 different players rush for 100 or more yards, not to mention they went on to win the National Championship. It’s impossible to see this one going well.

Louisville 10, Clemson 52 (3-4)

Alan: Trevor Lawrence solidifies his commanding lead in the Heisman Trophy race by dismantling Louisville’s secondary. The Cardinals make several encouraging plays on offense in this David v Goliath match-up, but the defending National Champions thwart the home crowd’s hopes of a massive upset in convincing fashion.

Louisville 23, Clemson 49 (3-4)

Presley: It’s always fun to host the defending national champions in your stadium. However, it’s not nearly as fun losing to Clemson… Again. I’m not convinced this is a complete shellacking quite yet. The Tigers are known to drop some clunkers to lesser teams on occasion, but it’s tough to envision Louisville keeping this one close in the second half. The key to this game is getting out injury-free.

Louisville 24, Clemson 45 (4-3)

Ethan: After gaining a lot of momentum and showing a lot of improvement, all of that comes to a screeching halt on October 19 when Louisville faces the defending national champion Clemson Tigers. To think that just a few years ago, Louisville was considered a challenger to Clemson in the Atlantic every year, with Louisville falling just short every time they faced off. Clemson is now just head and shoulders above everybody else and Louisville has clearly fallen off, for now, don’t expect this one to magically be close. We’re just not there yet. Louisville comes back down to earth after this one and we’re all reminded that we’re still rebuilding.
