Luke Hancock

Luke Hancock is one of the most talked-about recent former Cardinals.

The former final four Most Outstanding Player finished his basketball career in 2014 and has remained in the city of Louisville since his career came to an end. After leaving Louisville, Hancock played in the NBA Summer League before ultimately heading oversees. A bevy of injuries halted career, and since he’s turned to the financial world while keeping his foot in local media.

Up until recently, he’s been dominating the hardwood in some of the competitive rec leagues across Louisville and from what I’ve been told, the dude still has it.

Many hear his voice on The Drive with Mark Ennis on 93.9 FM in Louisville on a weekly basis, and he has been an instrumental part in stirring up interest in the TBT with his former teammates and other Cardinal alumni. Though he has a full-time career and his radio side-gig, we aren’t ruling him out as an option, although after multiple shoulder and Achilles injuries, he may tell you otherwise.

At the very least, the former sharp-shooter could provide some insight as a coach or some sort of supporter for the team. However, it appears that Hancock is still in good shape, and given the length of time he has to prepare, we think he could be a contributor for this TBT team.

Picture it with me. Louisville’s down six in The Basketball Tournament championship game and needs someone to make a big-time shot. The guy who does it… none other than Louisville legend, Luke Hancock.
