Samardo Samuels

Samardo Samuels made some noise recently by signing with a team in the Big 3 basketball league after spending nearly six years overseas.

Louisville has a ton of former guards who are viable options, but adding a player like Samuels would be a big deal because of his size and creativity in the post.

Though basketball as a whole is moving away from the notion that you need a center to succeed, Samuels would bring the size, strength, and experience needed down low.

This former Card was the highest-ranked player to ever sign with the University of Louisville and helped lead the Cards to a No. 1 overall seed in the 2009 NCAA tournament. Despite his up and down short-lived Louisville career, Samuels would be a welcomed addition and seasoned overseas veteran for the Louisville squad who could provide a dominating force around the rim.

Samuels is now 30 years old, but he’s continued to play at a high-level in his professional basketball career and he could still be a big addition for team Louisville.
