Reaction: There’s not a whole lot to react to as only two of our three “youngsters” took the field in week one, as Jaire Alexander was a healthy scratch as were most Packers starters.

Playing in three series, Lamar Jackson looked much improved and much more comfortable throwing the football, especially on the run.

He was 4/6, for 59 yards, and a score, including a nice pass down the sideline to Chris Moore, which accounted for 30 of the 59 yards.

The Ravens are going to be smart this preseason when it comes to Lamar, which was evident by the fact that he had zero rushes for zero yards. They have a brand new offense and my guess is they aren’t going to tip their hands as to what it will look like come week one.

We heard reports all week with the Ravens scrimmaging in practice against the Jaguars that Lamar wasn’t afraid to throw the football, in fact, teammate Earl Thomas said he was “dropping dimes,” and that he looked much much improved from where we last saw him against the Chargers in 2018-19.

The goal for Lamar week one was simple. Don’t turn the ball over. Don’t do too much. And don’t get injured. He did all three of those and showed a lot of great things that should give Louisville fans and Ravens fans hope that his upward trajectory passing the ball will continue into the rest of the preseason and into the regular season.
