Big boys deserve the love and limelight every now and then, right?

Is that why I put two defensive lineman back to back? Not at all.

If Louisville football is planning to bounce back as a whole in 2019, it’s no surprise they will need to see the most improvement come from defense.

An improvement that starts upfront.

Under a new leader with a new mindset and scheme, redshirt senior G.G. Robinson is ready to shed the frustration of last year and become the impact player fans expect him to be. Jacob Lane shared a few thoughts as to why Robinson is considered a high-impact player for the Cards this season –

Robinson brings experience to the defensive line in 2019 as well as a guy who’s played well just about every time he’s been on the field. This season he’ll play at the nose tackle position most of the time in the new look 3-4 defense under Bryan Brown, with his primary focus being on making hustle plays to blow up the run game.

Up to 298 pounds for his final season, Robinson will be hungry to make plays. Speaking about the hustle tape in practice and how every player wants to earn their way on to that, Robinson said: “I’m going to make it every day from now.”

That’ll mean focusing in with laser precision and playing with effort every down, regardless of the score.

Robinson has been through the up and downs of Louisville football the last three seasons and will do everything in his power to move past 2018, and help move forward the program in the new era under Scott Satterfield.

Another talented senior at an important position that’s eager to put last season behind him?
