Fill in the blank. I believe Jawon Pass will be _______ this season.

Tanner Hickman: I believe Jawon Pass will be serviceable this season. I am not hoping for Lamar-esque numbers but if he can just make the timely plays and correct decisions in his reads I think Louisville could have a surprising season considering the circumstances.

Presley Meyer: Mentally tougher. That’s what it ultimately boils down to. Pass and the previous staff just did not click. However, the new staff loves the kid, and it’s clear his teammates have the utmost respect for him. I think that leads to new guys, mentally, which is why I’m a little higher on this team than others.

Ethan Sprowles: I also believe the word for Jawon Pass here is serviceable. Jawon is far too talented and far too physically gifted to at least not be a serviceable quarterback for this team this season. Satterfield seems like the perfect guy to be able to get to Jawon and help build him back up, and Frank Ponce is a very respected quarterback coach.

Jacob Lane: I believe Jawon Pass will be better, but still limited this season. It wouldn’t be fulfilling my fiduciary duties to our readers if I tried to convince you to believe that Jawon Pass is bound to bounce back and become the great quarterback we all thought he’d be.

I do believe that he’s going to be much better than he was last year, but even if that’s the case it’s just not enough to take this team over the hump. There are a lot of good things that Pass will bring to this offense, and there are reasons to believe that he can develop into a much-improved quarterback, but the limitations that we saw last year weren’t all on the staff. He’s a very raw quarterback who is still growing into what is needed to quarterback an ACC program at a high level.

The staff and most importantly the players believe in him and that is a big step in the right direction.

Alan Thomas:  I believe Jawon Pass will be on and off the bench this season.

Alex Stengel: A better game manager. I sound like a broken record on this topic, but Jawon does not have to be a superhero – just make the manageable throws you need to make. We have weapons on offense, just get them the ball – nothing more, nothing less.
